The Ukrainian Universal Exchange continues to actively work in the agricultural market and offers a new level of service: an organized market for grains and oilseeds – EXCHANGE TRADING OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS BY UUB. Detailed information can be found at the link.

Corn

The local corn market experienced a price decline under the pressure of a rapid increase in the physical supply of the new harvest and logistical congestion. On the western borders, spot liquidity is practically absent: a shortage of railcars blocks new shipments, and border crossings and terminals are scheduled until December for the fulfillment of previously concluded contracts, shifting buyer interest to February-March 2027. A geographical price gap deepens within the country, where prices locally dropped to 4,500-5,000 UAH/ton in the center and east compared to 6,200-6,500 UAH/ton in the west. Traders note that October and November will exert maximum pressure on free volumes of grain, so producers without fixed forwards should consider transitioning to a long-term storage strategy.

Average domestic price: 6,102.41 UAH/ton (-6.95%).

DAP-Danube: 164.5 $/ton.

On the Chicago Exchange, the December corn futures fell to 196.9 $/ton on Thursday due to traders’ positioning ahead of the USDA report, pressure from the harvest campaign in the USA, and lower-than-expected export sales (769.5 thousand tons). On the Euronext exchange, November corn quotations stood at 307.1 $/ton.

Wheat

The domestic market for Ukrainian wheat continues to show a further decline in trading activity against the backdrop of limited import demand and a shift in logistics focus. Traders have almost stopped purchasing wheat at western railway crossings, redirecting all available rolling stock and financial resources to receiving corn, while domestic flour mills operate strictly within minimal current needs. On the Danube, the market is sustained through spot deals (up to 9,100 UAH/ton EXW for grade 3 and from 8,150 UAH/ton EXW for feed). Farmers’ sales restraint continues to protect internal benchmarks from a sharp collapse, but the lack of broad export demand limits the potential for growth.

Grade 2: 6,529.27 UAH/ton (-1.48%).
Grade 3: 6,425.90 UAH/ton (-0.20%).
Grade 4: 5,596.01 UAH/ton (-2.84%).

DAP-Danube: 173.1 $/ton.

The December wheat contract in Chicago closed at 251.0 $/ton, feeling the pressure of a strong US dollar, although market support was provided by high weekly export sales from the USA (451.6 thousand tons) and ongoing shipping risks in the Black Sea basin. On the Euronext exchange, December futures were at 273.8 $/ton.

Sunflower

The sunflower market continues to experience a corrective trend under the influence of increased supply from farmers who, due to difficulties in selling corn, intensified sales of oilseeds to quickly attract circulating funds. Additional destabilizing factors were strikes at industrial facilities, causing a number of plants to temporarily suspend acceptance or reduce prices to 16,500-17,500 UAH/ton EXW, after which the market stabilized within 17,000-17,500 UAH/ton EXW (48% oil content). The passive demand for sunflower oil on export routes and limited profitability of its processing remain restraining factors for purchasing levels.

Average domestic price: 17,856.20 UAH/ton (-1.77%).

Soybeans

The soybean segment maintains its status as the most stable oilseed crop at the beginning of October. Despite a moderate weekly price correction, demand from internal processing plants and exporters remains balanced, absorbing arrivals from fields rhythmically and providing farmers with the opportunity to generate revenue without sharp price fluctuations. Strong interest on the western borders allows soybeans to maintain reliable liquidity even amidst seasonal supply growth and external market fluctuations.

Average domestic price: 17,251.19 UAH/ton (-2.03%).

On the Chicago Exchange, soybean futures were under the greatest pressure on Thursday due to weak weekly USDA export sales (549.4 thousand tons), cheaper soybean meal, and seasonal increases in harvest rates in the Midwest USA.
