Discovered on the streets of Düsseldorf, Julia has built an impressive modeling career while dedicating herself to helping others strengthen their bodies and minds through Pilates. In this interview she shares her philosophy on beauty, fitness and the balance needed to thrive in a fast-paced world.

How did your journey into modeling begin, and what do you enjoy most about this profession?

My modeling journey began when I was scouted on the streets of Düsseldorf, Germany. In 2013, I earned the title of «Face of Germany», which opened doors to working with agencies worldwide. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of traveling the globe, collaborating with diverse creatives, and immersing myself in different cultures. What I love most about modeling is the freedom to work anywhere while constantly meeting open-minded, inspiring people who share a passion for creativity.

As a Pilates instructor, how do you combine your passion for fitness with the demands of modeling?

Pilates complements my modeling career perfectly. It keeps me strong, lean, and centered, which is crucial for the physical demands of modeling. The discipline I’ve developed through fitness also helps me manage the unpredictable schedule of shoots and travel while maintaining a balanced mindset.

What does your beauty routine look like? Do you have any go-to products or rituals you swear by?

My beauty routine focuses on keeping my skin healthy and glowing. I always cleanse thoroughly, use a hydrating serum, and never skip SPF. My go-to product is a lightweight, dewy foundation for a natural glow. I also swear by lymphatic drainage massages and LED light therapy.

How do you approach nutrition? Do you follow a specific diet, or are there certain foods that you believe are key to staying healthy and energized?

My approach to nutrition is balanced and intuitive — I believe in enjoying everything in moderation without imposing strict restrictions. I prioritize whole, nutrient-dense foods, lean proteins, and complex carbohydrates to fuel my body. While I avoid processed sugars, I focus on nourishing meals like salmon with fresh greens or vibrant, protein-packed salads. Hydration is a non-negotiable part of my routine, as it’s essential for maintaining energy, overall health, and glowing skin.

The pandemic brought many lifestyle changes. Did it influence your approach to work, self-care, or overall pace of life?

Absolutely. The pandemic was a turning point for me, as it deepened my love for Pilates and helped me discover the joy and strength that movement brings to my life. Teaching and practicing Pilates became a source of pure passion and growth, both physically and mentally. That period taught me the importance of slowing down and truly listening to my body’s needs. It was a transformative time that reshaped my approach to balance and well-being.

Your profession requires a lot of discipline. How do you manage to stay motivated and consistent in both your modeling career and as a Pilates instructor? 

I stay motivated by setting clear goals and constantly reminding myself of my «why». I genuinely love what I do, and seeing progress in both modeling and Pilates inspires me to keep pushing forward. I thrive on being busy and embracing a full schedule — it’s simply part of my character. I believe in working hard and playing hard, which keeps life exciting and fulfilling. Discipline comes naturally when you’re passionate about your work.

In your opinion, why is it important to align physical fitness with inner well-being in today’s fast-paced world?

Physical fitness and inner well-being are deeply connected. Movement clears the mind, reduces stress, and boosts confidence, while inner peace allows you to perform your best physically. In today’s fast-paced world, finding this balance helps maintain both energy and joy.

What advice would you give to those who are just starting their journey in self-care, fitness or even modeling?

Give yourself time and don’t be too hard on yourself — growth takes patience. Find an agency that truly sees your potential and shares your vision, and never stop believing in yourself. Whether it’s fitness or modeling, start small, stay consistent, and focus on progress rather than perfection. Surround yourself with supportive, uplifting people who inspire you to keep going. With persistence, humility, and self-belief, you’ll be amazed at how far you can go and what you can achieve over time.
